What makes someone eligible for this list? Well, firstly they have to primarily play right back or right wing back. There are a lot of players who fit naturally into the CB or left back position too, but they must be right backs first and foremost.

The second part is age. We are only looking at players that start FIFA 23 career mode aged between 20 and 24. Those younger than that fall into the wonderkid right backs bracket, while obviously anyone older than that has aged out!

We've listed these by considerating what they can do right now but also how high their potential is. You might disagree with our list, but this is who we think are the best young right backs in FIFA 23 career mode!

Trent Alexander-Arnold (OVR 85 - POT 88)

Team: Liverpool

Age: 23

Nation: England

Trent Alexander-Arnold has come under a lot of fire this season for his lack of defensive acumen, but Liverpool has stuck by their offensively-creative right back.

In FIFA 23 Trent is a brilliant player going forward. His 91 long passing, 91 crossing, 89 stamina, and 87 short passing makes him a uniquely creative right back that can play brilliant passes from wide or inside the field. His best position is probably as CM, but he's a right back through and through too.

Reece James (OVR 84 - POT 88)

Nation: England

A more defensive-minded right back than Trent, Reece James has already become a go-to player for both club and country at just 22 years old.

James is a brilliant right back in FIFA 23, with 88 crossing, 88 balance, 85 strength, and 83 short passing. He's got 84 standing tackle to win the ball back and enough speed with 81 sprint speed to get up and down the flank.

Achraf Hakimi (OVR 84 - POT 87)

Age: 23

Nation: Morocco

Hakimi has long been considered one of the best right backs in the world, and fans everywhere were sad to see him leave Inter for PSG. He had a breakout performance with Morocco in the 2022 Qatar World Cup as well.

In FIFA 23 Hakimi is absolutely rapid. He's got 93 sprint speed, 92 stamina, and 91 acceleration to get up and down the flank all day. His 84 crossing, 82 ball control, and 81 short passing make him useful in possession, while his speed lets him cover plenty of ground and his 78 interceptions and 76 standing tackle will win the ball back well.

Jeremie Frimpong (OVR 82 - POT 88)

Nation: Netherlands

There is a bit of a gap from the top three to Jeremie Frimpong, but given the clubs they are at Frimpong is the most attainable of the lot. Frimpong came up through the Man City academy before moving to Celtic in 2019 and then signing with Bayer Leverkusen in 2021.

In FIFA 23 Frimpong is lightning-fast. He's got 96 acceleration, 93 sprint speed, and 90 balance to break lines and fly forward. His 86 dribbling and 83 crossing makes him dangerous in wide situations, while his 78 standing tackle is very good for the position.

Noussair Mazraoui (OVR 82 - POT 85)

Team: Bayern Munich

Age: 24

Nation: Morocco

A second Moroccan on our list, Noussair Mazraoui came up with Ajax, making his debut with them in 2018 before getting a big move to Bayern Munich last year where he has played both full back positions and even in midfield.

Mazraoui is a solid player in FIFA 23, he has 86 stamina, 86 agility, and 83 acceleration to keep running all game, and 83 dribbling and 83 short passing to create with the ball at his feet. Without possession he can defend well, with 80 positioning, 80 interceptions, and 78 standing tackle.
