Father’s Day is just around the corner – Sunday, June 16, 2024. If you’re looking to get out and about to celebrate, here are some options for a fun Father’s Day outing in and around Seattle.

Edmonds Art Festival

The Edmonds Arts Festival is going on all weekend on Main Street for Father’s Day weekend. It’s a fun chance to meet artists and see their work in a beautiful outdoor setting. The Festival offers entertainment, a juried gallery art exhibition and sale, a juried student art exhibit, and a hands-on children’s art activity area. On Saturday, the Edmonds Farmers Market also will be going on. This event is not pet-friendly due to large crowds.

Meeker Days Art and Musical Festival

It’s Meeker Days in Puyallup, a three-day celebration named after pioneer Ezra Meeker. Pierce County’s largest street festival takes up a 15-block radius and includes a Kid Zone with inflatables and a giant sandbox, Art in the Pavilion, three stages filled with live music and entertainment, vendor booths, food, classic cars, and an antique show. Topgolf Swing Suite at Hotel 1000

Come to the Hotel 1000 on Father’s Day weekend for dads who like a little playful competition, The Nineteenth is a Topgolf Swing Suite combining food & drink with immersive entertainment that’s fun for the whole family. Seattle’s only Topgolf Swing Suite, powered by Full Swing simulator technology, features two simulator bays and a variety of virtual games that immerse guests in a unique social and interactive experience. Maximum 4 guests per golf bay.

Father’s Day BBQ Train Ride

All aboard! Dads, Granddads, Uncles, Brothers and Sons! It’s a guy thing! Take a memorable train ride into the Chehalis River Valley. The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad celebrates Father’s Day by offering a full meal BBQ and train ride with scenic views. Arrive by 4:30 p.m. for the BBQ and then the train departs the station for a ride into the scenic Chehalis River Valley at 5:15 p.m. The train will return to the depot by 7 p.m. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure and enjoy the gift shop while you wait.

Saturday, June 15. 5:15 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Location: Chehalis-Centralia Railroad, 1101 SW Sylvenus St, Chehalis, WA 98532

Cost: $65 per person (BBQ & Ride). Buy tickets here. No meal service: $25 adult, $23 senior, $18 children (5-13). Children 4 and under are free.

Father’s Day Steam Train Ride

Enjoy a steam train ride through the scenic upper Snoqualmie Valley! Begin your 2-hour, round trip experience in Snoqualmie when you climb aboard historic passenger cars and journey west to the top of Snoqualmie Falls, pausing at the crest for a view of the lower river valley. Return east to the Railway History Center (RHC) for a 30-minute stopover to visit the Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Then hop back aboard and continue traveling east to the North Bend Depot. After a brief stop to pick up passengers, you’ll return to the Snoqualmie Depot. Board train at Snoqualmie Depot: 38625 SE King Street, Snoqualmie WA 98065. Everyone age 2 and up needs a ticket. Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16 (2024).

Olympia Air Show Father’s Day Weekend

The Olympia Air Show season kicks off on Father’s Day weekend, hosted by the Olympic Flight Museum. This is the 24th anniversary. It will feature aircraft and displays from World War II to more recent. Featured Aerobatic demonstrations from the museum collection, and there will also be an aerial fire attack demonstration. They will have family activities, military displays, a beer garden, food, gifts, and more. Visit the website or Facebook for more information about the show schedule.

Bicycle Weekend on the Lake Washington Boulevard

Bicycle Weekend on Lake Washington Boulevard is back! It is a perfect chance for the family to get active and spend quality time with Dad. A scenic 3-mile stretch of Lake Washington Boulevard between Mount Baker Beach and Seward Park will once again be closed to motorized vehicles but open to people walking, rolling, and biking. Between the Seward Park entrance and Mount Baker Park’s beach.

June 15-16. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Location: Lake Washington Boulevard, between Seward Park entrance and Mount Baker Parks Beach.

Cost: Free

Burien has both its annual FREE Strawberry Festival and Father’s Day Car Show this weekend. This long-standing event includes a petting zoo on Saturday, the car show on Sunday, live music all weekend, a kid’s area, and vendor booths. Father’s Day Car Show is on Sunday and enjoy classic cars, sleek rides, and plenty of family fun. From vintage muscle cars to modern marvels, there’s something for every automotive enthusiast to admire. Food vendors, music and activities for the kids will be held on both days.

June 15-16. Saturday (Strawberry Festival & Petting Zoo): 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Sunday (Father’s Day Car Show): 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Take Dad to the Mariner’s Ball Game

The Mariners are at home playing the Texas Rangers on Sunday, June 16th, on Father’s Day. The first 10,000 dads will get a “Big Dumper Stadium Seat Cushion”. PLUS, it is Youth Softball & Fastpitch Day – Julio Rodriguez Poster (Postgame) for all kids 14 & under.

Father’s Day Free Admission at The Museum of Flight

Museum admission is free for all dads accompanied by their kids (of any age) on Father’s Day (June 16, 2024). The newest addition to the Museum is the Home Beyond Earth opens on June 8, an immersive new exhibition that goes to the heart of the human experience of living in space. There will be activities on this day; check Facebook or Instagram for more information.

Fenders on Front Street Father’s Day Car Show

Downtown Issaquah’s car show features hundreds of classic and vintage car owners showing their vehicles along historic Front Street and a Father’s Day breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.There also will be music, family activities (kids scavenger hunt), food trucks, vendors, and an awards ceremony.

Dream Builder’s Father’s Day Car Show

This annual car show at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County. Check out classic cars, low riders, street rods, sports cars and more. They will have a power wheels drags (Free for kids to participate with their electric ride-on vehicle), contests, and a kid zone. Spectators are welcome from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Note: All racing at the show is run by the Evergreen Speedway and the Evergreen AutoX Team. Celebrate Father’s Day at Northwest African American Museum

NAAM’s Second Day of Juneteenth Celebration continues with their Father’s Day Celebration at the museum. Bring the entire family to enjoy free admission with music, films, and gift in recognition of Father’s Day. They will also host an in-person interactive storytime reading of ‘Emmett Till: Sometimes Good Can Come Out of A Bad Situation’. Enjoy music from Seattle’s own jazz band, Goody Bagg.
